Any sight-reading system, used consistently, will improve
students' ability to read music.
However, after working with
all three sight-reading systems, over many years of teaching,
I have discovered that one system clearly has an advantage
over the other systems. That is "Fixed
Do".
A natural choice for Madrigal Dinners or fesitival. If used during a Madrigal Dinner, the three verses may be interspersed with "toasts" or dialogue in praise of the boar's head.

I want to hear from you!
If you are a music teacher, please let me know which system you were taught in high school and college, or even if you were not taught a "sight-reading" system.
Tell me why you like one sight-reading system over another, and how much do you emphasize sight reading in your classroom?
